Job Description
The data scientist will work in the Wankowicz lab (wankowiczlab.com) at Vanderbilt University’s Center for Al for Protein Dynamics and the Molecular Physiology and Biophysics department. This work will involve developing machine learning and bio informatic algorithms and approach es towards understanding con formation al entropy in structures.
The Wankowicz lab (wankowiczlab.com) aims to elucidate the role of entropy in substrate specificity and catalysis, striving to provide a comprehensive thermodynamic understanding of enzyme function. The lab develops innovative computational algorithms to create conformational ensemble models. This position will be involved in the computational side of the lab, focusing on improving modeling methods and testing these methods in a high-throughput manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrable proficiency in Python required.
Proficiency in deep learning with PyTorch (preferred) or TensorFlow.
Experience in structural biology or computational chemistry
Hands-on experience with version control (e.g., Git), and collaborative platforms (e.g.,
GitHub).
Qualifications
- BS, MS, or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biophysics,
Computational Chemistry, or related field.
